Autumn Musings II

Autumn
When the trees their summer splendor
Change to raiment red and gold,
When the summer moon turns mellow,
And the nights are getting cold;
When the squirrels hide their acorns,
And the woodchucks disappear;
Then we know that it is autumn,
Loveliest season of the year.

Autumn Musings.

I started my blog a couple of weeks ago not knowing how certain events would unfold and prohibit me from continuing. Now all the work that needed to be done, has been done, and my time finally belongs to me again.

I’m looking forward to working in the garden and getting it ready for Winter. The grass really needs to be cut. The outside pots need to be filled with new plants. I hope I can find some flowering Autumn plants at the garden center soon. Especially excited about filling my new terracotta pot by the front door with the last of hydrangeas or maybe hypericum or heather. White and green heather wouldn’t that be nice?!

Lastly I need a new wreath for the front door. I saw some lovely ones the other day while driving through the village. They were layed out for sale in the garden of a beautiful country cottage. I think I’ll drive past there again and have a look. That’s the nice thing about living in the country, you get surprised at what people sell from their homes. From organic foods to beautiful handsewn quilts, wreaths and garlands and soon, Christmas decorations.

Wishing you a happy day. Liefs (love) Ingrid.

A New Schoolyear

Just washed the car with Jeff. Bells is clearing out her study. We’re all getting ready for school tomorrow. This was a stressful summer but also one of the sweetest spend with my own family. I learned that humility is truly one of our greatest virtues. So off I go now to bake a cake and make chicken rice and I leave you to listen to this beautiful piece of music. Love to all.
